A new season of my favorite reality show, The Amazing Race, has begun, and tonight I watched the premiere episode. Lots of interesting teams this time around--my personal favorites so far: Hometown (OK, state) Team I Like To Root For: Brad & Victoria from Columbus Ohio. Also like them because they're older and wiser :-) Underdog Sentimental Favorite Team: Margie & Luke, mother-son team (he happens to be deaf, which gives them an interesting advantage because they can communicate quickly, silently and secretly, since the other teams apparently don't know sign language, and they use their own unique version anyway. I think this is cool!). Hillbilly Team Who Are Just Plain Amusing: Linda & Steve. In case you are a fan and haven't seen it yet, I'm putting spoilers after the ( cut. )I am very happy with this episode and hope that the show will keep on entertaining me this season. Last season I quit watching after half the season, because I was fed up with the annoying teams and too many airport pseudo-dramas. They're supposed to be reducing the amount of time spent in airports or at least the scenes of airport wrangling, so I will be happy with that.
